High performance alpine skiing with the World Cup Infinity Insulated Ski Jacket

Developed with the Norwegian national alpine ski team - Team Telenor Alpine Norway

As official clothing partner to the Norwegian national alpine ski team - Team Telenor Alpine Norway, we've been given exclusive access to their insights, and are excited to kit them out with the World Cup Infinity Insulated Jacket.

“Everything is possible”. "Harsh conditions are our home conditions". Such is the mentality of the team. Their success comes down to hard work, a one team attitude, and of course, the gear — so they can stay at the top of their game.

READY FOR THE RESORT?

"Harsh conditions are our home conditions"

The team leave for a packed World Cup schedule that will see them competing most weekends. Preparation on race days is just as important as the pre-season training that has got them here. Factor in the 1-hour window to inspect the course, the changing conditions from sub-zero temperatures to snow flurries and the potential for serious windchill, the team could easily get cold without the right gear. And as these elite athletes know, any cold spots put extra strain on the muscles, increasing the chance of injury. Staying warm and dry is key.

UNLOCKING THE KEY TO STAYING WARM AND DRY

With feedback from the team, we started mapping out the fabrics. Our design team chose PrimaLoft® BLACK Eco. This recycled synthetic insulation dries quicker than down, making it suitable for the unpredictable conditions that the professional skiers can face at any given time. It's not until the insulation is combined with a membrane, however, that its high density polyester fibers can hold their own in tougher conditions.

When it came to the membrane, we selected our propriteray  LIFA INFINITY™ technology. Its hydrophobic (water-hating) properties make it waterproof. And the unique shape and size of its pores ensure that it's breathable at the same time. As the athletes pick up speed and the wind hits harder, the jacket offers protection thanks to its high front collar with padded fabric, complete with a chin guard.

Smart design saves time

In this world of fast-paced skiing, Norwegian alpine skier, Thea Stjernesund tells us that her first thought is often protection. Armguards are an essential part of the team's gear, but they come with extra bulk. For every second the team spent pulling a jacket over their armguards, they risked losing valuable heat (and training time). We couldn't sacrifice protection of course, but we could help them retain heat and win back some training time with an innovative solution. We developed a zipper opening in the forearms, enabling the professional skiers to get the jacket on and off easily so they can focus on what really matters.

Our relationship with professionals are at the center of each product we make. We're confident that the new World Cup Infinity Insulated Jacket will keep skiers of all levels protected and help them perform at their best.

NEVER MISPLACE YOUR SKI PASS OR SHAMMY

If you're a resort skier, you'll know that a ski pass is a must and the lift lines can be long. Nobody wants to be that person who holds up the rest of the line desperately searching for their ski pass. This jacket has a designated pocket for this very purpose. Knowing your ski pass is always in the same place can help you (and others) maximize precious time on the mountain.

The jacket comes with a goggle shammy in the right pocket, making it easy to access should you need to give them a quick wipe to refresh your vision.

The jacket is developed for the needs of professional skiers

Smart design gives you peace of mind

Whether you're an enthusiast or a professional skier, staying safe on the mountain leads to a better overall experience.

SEARCHABLE WITH RECCO®

Many resorts have RECCO® transceivers. This jacket has an integrated RECCO® transponder, making it searchable in over 900 ski resorts across 32 countries worldwide.

KEEP YOUR PHONE ALIVE LONGER

Most of us who take on the slopes use our phones to capture memories or link up with pals. Team Telenor Alpine Norway are no different. But as professional skiers, their focus is on making marginal gains. They may use their phone as a training aid to record their runs and play them back later. Whatever the purpose, a phone without battery is less than ideal.

LIFE POCKET™ is a nifty pocket that can hold your phone. Thanks to aerogel insulation, it provides double the warmth of a regular ski jacket pocket to keep your phone alive longer when the cold hits that much harder.
