Three people hiking in the mountains

Opening the mountain with the guides of Mountain madness

In the rugged world of mountaineering and adventure, Seattle-based Mountain Madness stands as a beacon of inspiration. Since its inception in 1984 by passionate climbers, it has forged a path of distinction, offering a diverse array of guided adventures ranging from beginner treks to summiting the highest peaks of the Himalayas.

As the official clothing supplier for Mountain Madness, we recognize the critical importance of being prepared and trusting both one’s gear and oneself in unforgiving environments. Mountain Madness, rooted in the ethos of exploration and education, emphasizes the significance of preparedness. Their courses and programs are designed to equip adventurers with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and successfully enjoy the open mountain. This alignment of values – the relentless pursuit of adventure and an unwavering commitment to safety and preparedness – makes our partnership a natural one.

I rediscover my love of the mountains every time I go out.

Tips from Sean

For a Mountain Madness guide, nothing beats being prepared. Below are some tips so you can trust in your gear, and yourself.

  1. Always carry a map, first aid kit and headlamp.
  2. Consult other hikers for up-to-date conditions.
  3. Layer up for warmth. Remove a layer if you get hot.
  4. Bring a summit treat!
  5. Tell someone your plan and when you’ll be back.
  6. When it’s raining, keep some layers dry in your pack.
  7. Bring a GPS with an SOS function.
  8. Go slow, it’s not a race.
  9. Drink ample water and have a purification system.
  10. Be willing to turn around if conditions become unsafe.
