Important notice and recommended action for Helly Hansen Inflatable Life Vests Produced in 2020 or Earlier

As of 2021, all Helly Hansen life jackets are produced with an added security device fastening the CO2 cylinder. Depending on the model, all Helly Hansen life jackets are either manufactured with a “CylinderSafe™ part added to the inflation mechanism, or by using the “Hammar” system, whereby the C02 cylinder is permanently affixed to the release mechanism.
To ensure the safety of its customers and life jacket wearers, Helly Hansen asks that those with life jackets produced in 2020 or earlier that should mount the CylinderSafe™ part to minimize the possibility of the CO2 cylinder coming loose unintentionally, which may cause malfunction with of the life vest not inflating, resulting in loss or reduce the flotation features that protect against drowning. The CylinderSafe™ parts are now available for existing life jackets and vests and are offered free of charge by Helly Hansen through all affiliated retailers, shops and customer service. If you are located in Sweden, spare parts are available at the Stockholm brand store on Hamngatan 30. If you aren’t able to get to the store easily, please call +46703881918 to arrange to have it shipped to you.
Depending on the model and mechanism, there will be 3 different spare part kits available. It is recommended to check with your store or on the Helly Hansen website to confirm which part fits your life jacket.
The CylinderSafe™ parts come with instructions on how to retrofit. For consumers needing assistance, this can be offered through Helly Hansen affiliated retailers, Helly Hansen stores, or if needed, by sending the life vest to Helly Hansen.

When ordering a periodic service, Helly Hansen will also mount the additional safety part free of charge. The brand recommends having a periodic service carried out every second year for vests in recreational use, and every year for professional or extensive recreational use.
