The outdoors isn’t just a place to go - it's a place to grow.
If you’ve ever been on top of a mountain, or out in the middle of the sea, you know what it means to feel truly alive. This is the feeling that inspires us all, professionals and enthusiasts alike, and that has shaped our brand. This Giving Tuesday, we give back to an organization that for more than 30 years has worked to provide youth who would otherwise not have access to the outdoors with that feeling, with the aim to inspire a generation of young people to embrace their self-potential. We will be donating 5% of US e-commerce sales on Tuesday, November 28th to Big City Mountaineers.
Since 1989, Big City Mountaineers has supported young people to harness their own power and connection to nature nation-wide. They provide free, fully outfitted and professionally led backpacking trips, paddling expeditions and camps for youth from disinvested communities. Since their inception, they’ve conducted nearly 1100 expeditions, served over 12,000 youth, organized 5,000 volunteers, and provided nearly 45,000 nights under the stars for youth who might not have otherwise had the opportunity.
At BCM, we strongly believe that the outdoors isn’t just a place to go - it's a place to grow. We work to make the outdoors more accessible for youth who face barriers of access, with the aim to inspire a generation of young people to embrace their self potential and take care of their well-being, their communities and the natural world.
Adventure for Someone: Serving as BCM's flagship peer-to-peer fundraising program, individuals and groups can go on an adventure of their choice (hiking, camping, swimming, cycling, climbing, yoga, etc.), register their adventure on BMC's website, and rally their friends to donate to their campaign! If you’re ready to learn more and register an AFS campaign for BCM, click here.
Volunteering: BMC's adult volunteers are a driving force behind their mission. When you volunteer with them, your efforts will both directly and indirectly support youth as they tap into, strengthen, and expand social-emotional learning skills. Learn more about volunteering opportunities here.
