Suppliers

Long-Standing relationships with suppliers ensure more opportunities to improve trust, drive innovation, enhance quality and reduce risk.

We have a long-standing relationship with a majority of our suppliers, having worked with many of them for more than 15 years. Through these partnerships, we are able to develop unique materials and look into optimal production methods both when it comes to quality and environmental focus. All our Tier1 and Tier2 suppliers must sign our chemical compliance contract and make sure that they follow our restricted substance list that is based on the bluesign®’s RSL and is REACH compliant.

DUE DILIGENCE PROCESS

All Helly Hansen’s suppliers have gone through risk assessment processes; both country risk assessment and geopolitical assessment. Valid factory inspections needs to be in place before the factory can be approved for further collaboration.

These inspections are based on our ethical and environmental criteria’s outline in our Code of Conduct that needs to be signed by all Helly Hansen suppliers.

Helly Hansen has made a commitment to follow the standards of the BSCI – Business Social Compliance Initiative, but we recognize that many of our existing suppliers/factories may already have an audit other than a BSCI audit and to avoid audit fatigue, we will also accept the following audits if they meet our criteria and results are favorable: WRAP, SMETA, SA8000, ICTI, RBA and Better Works.

If the factory does not have any of the before mentioned audits, Helly Hansen will schedule a BSCI audit as well as assist the vendor/factory prepare for the audit. Helly Hansen requires a “C”rating or better for a BSCI audit. In the event that the factory receives a “D” rating or below we will require a Corrective Action Plan and follow-up audit to be conducted within three months.

Nominated Suppliers

TIER 1: Garment Producers

Over 40% of our Tier 1 suppliers are located in China and some of the suppliers we have been working with for more than 20 years. The 2nd largest volume of products is made in Bangladesh. The list below contains all of our Tier 1 suppliers.

Tier 2: Material Producers

Most of our fabrics, insulations, interlinings and other smaller trimming fabrics come from nominated Tier2 suppliers, who Helly Hansen has a direct relationship with. We source the majority of our fabrics from Taiwan, China and Vietnam and we share an overview of our key Tier2 suppliers on the Open Supply Hub platform.
